My husband Paul and I are Christians, and we desire to glorify God in all we do. We decided on the kennel name Heavensent Bullmastiffs and decided to go with the theme of Biblical names for all our dogs.
I am a third generation dog fancier. My mother is 76 yrs old and still owns and runs her own grooming shop. Her mother was also a groomer and showed and raised poodles.
I have been involved, since I was a child, in many aspects of the dog world; including grooming, breeding, showing and training. I currently show in both obedience and agility and have a background in dog behavior and behavior modification training.
My husband Paul is my best friend, and my right hand man, as he is now retired and is involved in all aspects of the dogs.
Paul was involved in the building and construction industries. We are really blessed by this, because there is not much that he can not fix or make.
Our foundation bitch, Champion Irresistabulls Vice Grip, came from Dorothy Kaye of Irresistabull Bullmastiffs. I co-owned Sky with Dorothy. Dorothy had created a strong legacy of working dogs, producing some nice working dogs in both obedience and agility, with correct type and structure.
I was dedicated to carrying on the strong working abilities along with correct type, structure and outstanding temperament, in my own breeding program. As breeders, we should be breeding for the betterment of the breed. Our goal is to breed for the total bullmastiff, both physically and mentally, dogs that can win in the confirmation ring but also excel in the obedience and agility rings. That being said, our number one priority is temperament, temperament, temperament and health. Because I don't care what a dog does in the show ring, if you don't have temperament and you don't have health, all you have is pretty.
